For Debaters & Adjudicators<\/strong><\/p>\n

Winning Premchand has long been a matter of prestige for any parliamentary debater in the country. We have a history of interesting motions, excellent adjudication and top quality competition. Premchand has always been an invitational debate. We purposefully keep the number of teams relatively low, and lay stress on quality over quantity. Our visitors have without exception enjoyed the relaxed,\u00a0cosmopolitan\u00a0and convivial atmosphere of Hindu College.<\/p>\n

Apart from a vigorous mental workout, you are assured of excellent hospitality. Accommodation for every outstation participant is complementary. What’s more, there is no registration fee. Our one regret is that we have not yet been able to coax enough out of our sponsors to fund travel for all outstation teams. Our aim is to make Premchand as light on the wallet as possible for every participant.<\/p>\n

Our previous winners would attest that all this generosity doesn’t come at the cost of our prize purse, which has consistently been described as “phenomenal” and “crazy”.<\/p>\n

Adjudicators, please note that Premchand being an international parliamentary is an excellent place to qualify as “A” grade.<\/p>\n

For Students<\/strong><\/p>\n

We sincerely believe that the intense yet entertaining parliamentary format has a lot to offer to the non-debating student community as well. This is because unlike a conventional debate, every issue is discussed threadbare in a Parliamentary with there being no “protected” speeches and every speaker being intensively quizzed on every aspect of their case. Premchand 2011 will not only be a great forum to witness some of your most gifted peers discuss issues of great contemporary interest, but also an\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to interact with young people from our\u00a0neighboring\u00a0countries. We are very grateful for the support rendered by the Hindu College Old Students’ Association and the Inder Sharma Foundation towards organizing Premchand 2011. The Hindu College Debating Society organizes four major tournaments every year (details here<\/span><\/a>). Premchand Memorial is our flagship event and we’ve been organizing this tournament for several years. Since 2005 this tournament has been an international parliamentary debate.
